About Us
Horn's Insurance, Real Estate & Auctioneering Inc. has grown into a thriving company because it is founded upon the values of its owners. Together they have a total of 101 successful years of selling real estate and insurance. It is their genuine desire to always serve their customers with honesty and integrity.
Clarence Horn started Horn's Insurance, Real Estate and Auctioneering Company in Cynthiana KY in 1958. Clarence's first sale was to a couple in 1958 that were too young to own real estate in Kentucky. He purchased the property for them, in his name and on a HANDSHAKE the deal was made. Several years later, when the couple turned 20 years old, the deed was transferred to their name.
In 1974 their son William joined his father's business. William's greatest passion was to be forward thinking and in addition to serving with integrity, he desired to be on the cutting edge of service to his customers. William believes that if you do not stay up with the times, the times will leave you behind. As a result of that belief, William was the first realtor to show homes on video so his customers could quickly view the listings from his office. He also had the first radio program with Betty Gayle on WCYN. They would do a walk thru of the homes for their many listeners.
In 1980 William purchased his first computer for Horn's Insurance, Real Estate and Auctioneering. This event changed their business drastically. Fascinated by the possibilities, William and Connie, his wife became friends with Chuck McKee, the founder of the computer company "Fourth Wave". Horn's became the research and development component of this company, resulting in Horn's having the most technologically advanced auction company in the United States. They have taken the small market in Cynthiana KY to the global community. They have over 100,000 hits on their website monthly, giving their customers access to buyers all over the world. As a result of this vast community of buyers, they also have expanded their business to ship purchases all over the United States.
